Default SB Trout

Fished the SB on Tuesday evening. Caught 5 smallies in about an hour on plastic a worm. The surprise was the was the two brown trout I caught with my hands. While wading the river I spooked some fish in the shallows. I didn't get a good look at the but assumed they were bass. When I saw more fish in the shallow water, I noticed they were trout. The fish seemed lethargic and to be looking for cool water in the shade as the the air temp was at least 90. The trout were moving slowly so i figured I try to catch one by hand. After a few attempts I caught one and then another. Both fished were released. There must have been at least 12-18 (in schools of 3-4) brown trout in the stretch of the river the I waded. Also saw three dead rainbows on the bottom of the river.

Be careful out there. I stepped the wrong way on a rock and ended up going for a swim. I think I need one of those ski poles!!!

Thumbs up Re: SB Trout

I got plenty of ski poles.

It's a shame about the rainbows, I think those and the brookies are first to drop off in the warm water, thanx for the report.
