Default fish finder

Looking for advise on choosing a gps/ fishfinder. The new lowrance looks very nice, but I hear customer service is terrible. Garmin is supposedly easier to use.Its going to be flush mounted on a Sea Hunt Ultra 232. Plan on spending under 2k. Also is it best to mount transducer on transom, or thru hull.

Garmin makes great units that are fairly easy to use and they have great customer support. I reccomend them with out hesitation.

My advice, especially for a combo unit, is to buy the largest screen size you can afford and will fit where you plan to install it.
