Manatees are amazing creatures. Have seen instances like that myself down the Keys.

Very cool! How's the health of the population doing?. I know their biggest threat is boat traffic and being hit, curious if no wake measures and restricted areas are keeping the population strong. They are amazing mammals. Hard to believe something that large lives predominantly on sea grass.

Just south of my marina is an electric generating plant so the manatees pile up in the warm water outflow (think sea cow sauna). What I find amazing is there is very little sea grass here but they seem to be doing just fine.
