Default Sandy Hook Bay Anglers Vets Trip on Dark Horse

I wanted to thank the Dark Hose and Capt Justin for a great day on the water yesterday. He and his crew made the day special and enjoyable for everyone on board....all the Veterans, Guests and SHBA Club Members had a great time!

Started out the morning jigging for striped bass with shads and spoons. One of the veterans, Glenn in the bow, next to me hit a fish pretty quickly on the Spoon....game on. Capt Justin searched around for more fish and we had a couple keeper bass come over the rails on the day with some overs boated and photographed as well. Those were released after measurements on the FishStix rulers scattered about the boat.

After the turn of the tide, we went fluking for a while with some nice action. Mix of bait and jigs caught fish. Had a couple keeper fluke come on board with the president of the club Barry boating a nice keeper. There was some throwback action as well on the flatties....got some nice pics for those who caught.

This is our way...of saying "Thank you for your Service." The Sandy Hook Bay Anglers is giving back in a way that let everyone on the boat relax and have a good time amongst comrades. In speaking with those who came along for the day of fishing, everyone was really thankful for the opportunity we provided them. Even if they didn't catch a fish, the amazing weather and relaxing pace of fishing yesterday was a big deal to everyone. Im truly happy we were able to make this happen.

We have a limited number of pics on Instagram and all the others on Facebook! Will be on the website next week.

Thank you guys. Appreciate it a great deal. it was an awesome day on the water. Spending time and enjoying a laugh or talking with those who served was a great experience for me personally.
I've seen a number of people have read the post. If you are interested in joining the club and being a part of something like this in the future, please reach out. We can use the help and just being a part of the SHBA has been great for me for the past umpteen years now.
