Thumbs up Raritan river 4/5/25:

4/5/25: FINALLY caught a fish, rolled a few others. Saw bald eagles and osprey. Nice meeting fellow NJF members. People running and gunning, coming and going. Box of chocolates down here on the Raritan !

Nice variety today, even a creek chub, they type we see often fishing the UDR. People were coming and going. Everything benefits when you peel thousands of tires off the river bottom but I think the smallmouth bass really gain from it the most. Notice I didn't post a tire photo from today, because I didn't see any !!!

The smallmouth was caught just below where the Robert St. dam once stood. I can't tell you how much whining and crying from fishermen I have to listen to about removing dams. Removing dams improves fishing and habitat on the Raritan river ! At no point during the day did we fish on or close to any dams.
