![]() I reached my goal of 40 days on ice for the season and hope to get a few more before the warm weather that is on the way kills the ice. i fished in 5ft today with a small amount of weeds that were green and the fish were there. the jig-n-meal worm did the trick today for most of the fish caught while the rippin rap only caught a two of the crappies and three of the dozen sunnies that i got. i had to let the jig rest on the bottom to stir up some silt and then slowly raise up from the bottom and they would hit just above the weeds. the rippin rap only worked at mid day then they did not want that any more so i switched to jig and worm for the rest of the day. i ended up with 12 sunnies,5 crappies and 4 perch not a bad day the weather was great it was the first day i did not have to wear my gloves for most of the day but when that sun went down the gloves went back on. the third photo is a pic of an ice heave from a crack that formed on the lake between two ice eater holes, that ice was about knee high. amazing how mother nature works. here are pics of the bigger fish today..
