Gambler's Nite Wreckin trip has been mostly good action on Ling and Squid. There's been plenty of sea bass in the mix, too, but sea bass are not permmited to be retained again until July 1st.

Besides ling and squid, we are occasionally catching some flounder, mackerel, pollock and winter flounder.

These trips run Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, 7:30 till 12:30 through the summer.

Here are some tips to catch more fish at night:

Ling: Make sure to use a 3/0 or 2/0 hook that hangs below the sinker. Don't use too big a piece of bait --you will miss too many bites. Remember --you can catch big fish on a small piece of bait, but it is harder to catch more fish on a bait that is too big

Squid: Use a light spinning rod and reel with a squid jig. Cast the squid jig, just past the lights. Work the sqid jig back to the boat, stop and crank method. Once a squid grabs your lure, keep steady pressure on it (any slack may cause an escape).

Blues and mackerel: Cast a small piece of bait into the chum slick, using a 1/4 split shot and feed it into the dark. Be careful not to tangle the guys next to you that are bottom fishing. If you do not get a bite within 200 ft, reel it slowly back and start over again.

Winter Flounder: Use a much smaller hook and a much smaller piece of bait. Let the bait sit still on the bottom and wait for the bite. (There are some extra big flounder in the deep where we are fishing, if you can dial-it-in).
