Default Update 7/16/22 Greenwood Lake Public Launch Ramp

Hey Everyone.....hope you are all ok/healthy.....It has been some time since we posted anything so we want to let you know where we are regarding the Public Launch Ramp at Brown's Point on Greenwood Lake (Bills S987/A1047). At the present time, the legislature is in recess. However, we are expanding on our support/sponsorship on both bills:

S987: 1/31/22 Introduced in the Senate, referred to the Senate Environment and Energy Committee (Pending)

Sponsors S987: Sen Joseph Pennacchio (R) Sen Steven Oroho (R)
Sen Edward Durr (R) Sen Michael Doherty (R)

Sen Joseph Lagana (D) Sen Fred Madden (D)

A1047: 1/11/22 Intoduced in the Assembly, referred to the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee

Sponsors A1047: Rep. Jay Webber (R) Rep Aura Dunn(R)
Rep. Harold Wirths (R) Rep. Parker Space (R)
Rep. Beth Sawyer (R) Rep. Bethanne Mccarthy Patrick (R)
Rep. Kevin Rooney (R)

Rep. Thomas Giblin (D) Rep. Paul Moriarty (D)
Rep. Clinton Calabrese (D)

We had the opportunity to attend a fundraiser cocktail gathering for Kevin Rooney in Totowa in May. At this event we laid out the issue, provided the Assemblyman with a copy of the bill and spoke with his Chief of Staff. From this meeting, we obtained the endorsement/support of Kevin Rooney.

We have been told that a Feasibility Study of Brown's Point should conclude by the end of this month regarding the public launch ramp. Right now, both bills on both sides are referred to as "semi-partisan"....which is GOOD. However, we still need more Democratic buy-in /co-sponsors of these bills. Please if you know someone make the calls. Strong support from both sides will push these bills through committee once the legislature re-convenes.

As you all know....nothing is happening overnight....which is unfortunate...but we are making headway step by step which will result with a new Public Boat Launch built on the lake. Please look to your town's representatives (Republicans and Democrats....especially Democrats) and ask them if they would support and sponsor these bills. MAKE THE CALLS!......

As we've said before it can't be just us doing all the work.....we need YOU. Fish and Wildlife said they want to hear from MANY on this issue not the same few. As we said, we ARE moving in the right direction.....let us cement the outcome by flooding legislator offices with calls. These calls need not be long....just politely ask for the particular legislator's support/signing on to become a sponsor either for S 987 or A 1047. This doesn't take long.....look online, obtain a few numbers...make a few calls! Log into the NJ Fish and Game Council Monthly Meeting and provide your name/express your support for a Public Launch on Greenwood Lake during the public comment period.

It doesn't matter if you haven't fished Greenwood or it is out of your area. You all have licenses makes you vested in the issue and which gives you the right to fish this stocked waterbody if you choose. Your monies pay to stock the lake.

We want to see these bills MOVE when the legislature reconvenes. It's up to you, it's up to all of us. Let's make this happen. Greenwood TODAY......your lake TOMORROW.....

Everyone enjoy your summer.

UFANJ
