Default Panama Nautical Club- Calamia

So about 6 months ago I posted an invitation on this site for anglers to join me and go to Panama. Well Brian, Ellen, and Mike (all from NJ Fishing) signed up and we just returned. We went to the island of Boca Brava in the Gulf of Chiriqui. I have fished Panama a number of times in the past, but I think that Panama Nautical Club has about the best amenities I have seen. Oceanfront bungalows with AC, great food, top shelf adult beverages all included. There is also white water rafting, horseback riding, kayaking and paddleboarding, something for everyone. The fishing equipment was all new Avet reels on custom rods, the boat was a completely restored 31' Blackfin. The fishing was good, not Panama great, the fish were tuned into tiny little sardines and didn't want our trolled lures or larger live baits. I pulled a circle hook on a cow yellowfin after one and a half hours, couldn't get her to come up on a heavy tuna rod. We managed a few fish each day to keep things interesting and had a great time. Covid restrictions were pretty easy to deal with, a negative test result on each end of the trip gave you a green light to travel.
I'm going to go back either Late March/April for their main tuna run or next February 2023. If you are interested in joining me, send me a PM or email me (tunawahoo@gmail.com) and I'll keep you posted on details.
