Sunday was definitely a day for the books, and a testament to the great fisheries we have here in New Jersey. Started the morning off on the hunt for trout. First fish of the day was a respectable wild brown trout. The next pool had a couple of rising trout, and I had to try a few different offerings before I got bit. After a hard, tense fight I slipped the net under one of the largest and fattest rainbows I've ever caught outside of the Great Lakes. A flawless, beautiful fish that was even more special because I caught it in New Jersey.

A nice musky slammed my lure right at my feet. It was a tense fight, given i had 12lb fluoro, but I managed to grab him after a short battle. He was released after a quick picture. ![]() |
