Default Covid protection

The boat is out and covered for the season. My question is. What are the charter boats doing to keep people safe while on their boat fishing? Are they doing anything to protect the public? I would like to do a few charters but require this information.

Stay safe all.

I am assuming from the overwhelming response from the fleet that they do nothing to protect their customers from this deadly virus. Not Good Guys

Great question. I would take the lead by bringing my own latex gloves, mask etc. Sanitize myself equipment after the trip before I get into the car/truck.
I just got over covid, layed up for 2 weeks in bed

Yea, it sucked for me too. That's how long I was laid our for.

It's prob easier to manage on a charter boat versus a party boat--less cats to herd. Banking on everyone being responsible is a no-no, too.

I just hope the party boat and charter guys get ample time out on the water in Nov and Dec 2020. With looming restrictions it'd be unfortunate to lose more on the water time.

Seeing how the Charter/Party fleet has responded with their COVID plans for keeping the public safe, I would have to warn all to stay away from them until they devise a way to keep us safe. I guess its stream fishing for me. Stay safe all

I would suggest speaking with a 6 pack charter captain. You can invite 5 other people you feel safe around and the captain and crew can always stay in the wheelhouse to distance. If you discuss your concerns with them in advance I'm certain they will find a way to accommodate you.

Call the boat and ask the Capt what there protocols are - if you like them go if not dont. Do not depend on other people , make sure you do the best you can with what you have, sanitize, coverup and be careful. Dont stay in the cabin and mask up., I have been doing open boats all summer and did not have an issue.

Do what you feel is comfortable when in doubt dont go

Call a boat/capt and ask them!!! How hard is that?? Pretty lame to sit here and assume they don't give a shit, maybe they are too busy working their butts off trying to make up for all the lost spring revenues, than to read this thread! Christ, too many people finger pointing w/ no information or answers.

I went with a few guys on the Atlantic star.
Rules,
we had to wear mask getting on/off boat.
Needed to wear mask while moving around the boat.
You could take your mask off while in your spot.
The mate came around about every hour and wiped the rail with cleaning solution.

It was good. I thought they did a good job with rules.
