Default Missing Kayaker

Fished the Navesink this morning. While crossing the Oceanic bridge at 0600 I saw a ton of emergency personnel in the water as well as aviation overhead searching the South East side of the bridge. As a LEO, I stopped to ask if I could assist in anyway as I would be fishing the western side of the river. They advised there was a missing kayaker since 0100. Not sure what the latest update is but they were searching all morning. Anyone fishing the area over the next couple days keep an eye out. Very eerie thinking there was most likely a corpse laying on the river bottom just underneath us. Be safe out there everyone as it could happen to anyone.

Fishing report more of the same. Couple of keepers, more shorts today than the past week. Wind against tide all morning wasnt easy to deal with.

No PFD. AGAIN. I think this is the third in the last three weeks between the river and bay. Senseless.

Ditto!

No life jacket Kayaking 1230am in a rain storm Thursday night into Friday morning. And lived the other side of the state in Bordentown accord to the press release.

Really? The other guy swam to shore. I thought kayaks float no matter which side is up? I guess it does not matter if you swim away.

What a shame!!

My son was out in his kayak on a local lake Sunday. Guy in a yak 50 yds from him went over and immediately started struggling. AGAIN another one not wearing a PFD. Thankfully he offered assistance and all ended well. But what could’ve been yet again....
