Charter, Party Boats and Bait and Tackle Stores

As you might imagine these small businesses like many others are suffering financially and emotionally as result of the virus. Although the government has made temporary provisions to allow general contractors and self employed people to collect unemployment, the owners of these businesses can't.

Not sure when these bans will be lifted but as you can imagine, their livelihoods like many of us in hang in the balance. The double whammy for them, this is also the time of year when all their major expenses come due.. Slip, maintenance, insurance, spring stocking orders etc.

What can we do to help them?
- A simple phone call with some words of encouragement can help..
- Book a charter or purchase gift certificates
- If you need some fishing gear shop local
- When the ban is lifted go out of your way to support these businesses to keep them afloat.

On a personal note, while I'm usually the sort who's glass is half full, I have my days where I get overwhelmed. I'm sure we all do... All of our fuses are a lot shorter so we need to take a deep breath, stick together and support and encourage each other.
