Party Boat Shutdown

Please Gov. Murphy, don't shut down the party boat fishing industry! With the current state of affairs involving social gatherings and shut downs and social distancing, the horrible thought of groups of fishermen confined along the rails of a party boat came to mind.

Although, there might be a technicality because it is a "take out" business and it is a mobile fish market which is like a food store. Let's just hope it doesn't get to that. Fish slime, Gulp and Clam juice all are virus protection agents so, no worry about contracting the virus.

They are locking down cities, people are getting very sick, this isn’t a joke, party boat fishing should be sidelined...confined, on a boat, for hours with many fisherman of age of high risk. I hope the gov does something to help any business down and out during this crazy times in the word.

If the party boats are not currently shut down, I doubt there will be any further restrictions unless they are self-imposed by fishermen. Support your favorite captains by fishing with them. Still it's a sorry mess. Let's hope things are back to some kind of normalcy soon and pray that the governor doesn't go any farther than he already has.

Ocean explorer posted yesterday that they were sailing today. Paramount is going Saturday AND Sunday. Dauntless is undaunted by this crisis and is sailing daily.I'll be on one of them this week.

This pandemic is nothing to mess with. STAY AWAY FROM OTHERS as much as possible. If your over 50 and get this, the death rate goes up to near 20%. Go surf fishing and stay away from others. Everyone stay safe and listen to the World Health Organization.

This has nothing to do with someone's business this has to do with the safety of our population. The last place you should be is crammed into a cabin of a party boat. That is the total opposite of social distancing. I feel bad for these captains and boat owners and mates. However these captains should not be lighting up in the morning.

The economic impact of this is going to impact everyone. This isn't about any particular business, it's about safety for a virus we don't yet fully understand. Don't let today's over reaction become tomorrow's unfortunate under reaction. This is one scenario where the phrase "err on the side of caution" is sound advise. If anyone believes a day of fishing is worth the risk you potentially pose to others if you're infected and don't realize it or the risk you pose to yourself, your family and anyone else you come in contact with if you are infected on a trip, you need to be the judge of that. Just remember one attorney in NY can be linked to infecting more than 60 people and was directly responsible for shutting down and quarantining an entire community.

I have to agree with this speaking about being in a cabin in close quarters or close proximity. I would say sail at your own risk...BUT think..>REALLY THINK and take to heart..... your loved ones and people you are in close contact with AT HOME!!! Its a shame...yes but you have to consider your family and friends. Don't put them and everyone else at risk.

If you've got one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel you might die from this cold panic but then again you're pretty close to death anyway so you might as well get a few fishing trips in before the Grim Reaper visits or the shutdown nuts completely collapse the economy.

So you are recommending the very action that medical professionals are telling us to avoid? Sorry, but this is simply irresponsible.
