Default Offshore Wind Seminar, Kris Ohleth (Ørsted), April 14, Rutgers Coop. Extension

Hello Everyone,

The next seminar as a part of our Marine Extension Program Seminar Series (MEPSS) with Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) will be on Tuesday, April 14 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM.

The featured speaker will be Kris Ohleth (Ørsted) who will be giving a presentation entitled:

"Offshore Wind is Coming to The United States: An Update for New Jersey"

Come learn about Ørsted and their Ocean Wind offshore wind energy project, which will be New Jersey's first utility-scale offshore wind farm. The 1,100 megawatt project will be located 15 miles off the coast of Atlantic City, and provide more than half a million New Jersey homes with clean and reliable energy.

This will be a free "HyFlex" seminar where people can attend live at the RCE of Ocean County (1623 Whitesville Road, Toms River, NJ 08755) or remotely via webinar.

Registration closes after Friday, April 9. ***Be sure to register early for in-class participation given that classroom capacity is limited and available on a first come, first served basis***

To register, please contact Kelly Jurgensen (kjurgensen@co.ocean.nj.us | 732-349-1152), Administrative Assistant - RCE of Ocean County, and provide your name, mailing and email addresses, phone number, and identify your mode of participation (in-class or webinar).

Please feel free to forward this announcement and attached flyer to anyone who might be interested and to contact us if you have any questions.

The wind turbines off of block island hold a lot of fish. Hopefully NJ lets you fish these if they're coming.

Most study’s are showing that fish are avoiding all the areas where the transmission cables are due to EMF.
The northern area could block all migration into the RARITAN bay for all species coming from off shore .

They also have proposed that area closed for 5 years during construction .

IMO that’s a loser for fisherman that have fished structure in that area for a lifetime.
