Busted Guide Reality

The attached photo shows a typical day’s worth of broken guides that we take off rods and replace with new guides. The rods are from all manufacturers, ranging from inexpensive to very expensive.

Any guide can break, especially if it hits something hard or gets stepped on, but we notice a lot of flimsy T-guides being put on relatively heavy rods of the type you might take out on a party boat. The guides don’t stand a chance. Maybe durability has lost it’s marketable appeal? We think that is crazy.

We build rods with the most durable guides we can find that are right for the job.

And, if you have a rod with a busted guide or two, bring it by and we will fix it up and get you fishing again.
