Miss Belmar - BLUES, MACKEREL & BOTTOM FISHING

We had good sea bass fishing on our family fun trip yesterday evening. We also caught a lot of mackerel in the last hour of the trip, then finished the night off with a great fireworks show off the beach in Point Pleasant. Our pool winner was Nathan Kasak from PA, he caught the biggest fish of the day which happened to be a skate!!

We started out the day along the beach this morning, north of Shark River Inlet. There was a good amount of bird life, where we saw lots of surface action with small blues. We jigged for the blues and mackerel and did pretty well for a while. About mid-morning, we lost the blues so we headed east to do some bottom fishing. We did really well with the sea bass, with some fluke and ling sprinkled in. It was a great day overall with awesome fishing and excellent weather!
