This is from late last week, but it's such a task to load the pictures and link them here now the reports are always late...anyway, headed out on the squatch-mobile to zombify ourselves.
Started off kind of slow but we picked up a few average sized wallygators. at around 11 we started hearing the zebra rocket fish wake up and at 11:30 squatch hooked up with an absolute tank. he battled him all the way to the boat and every time i went to lower the net it would do a full blown drag ripping dive, about 2-3 times...so the next time he got it up, I just went for it, blind deep net scoop and snap! line breaks...BUT fish dove right into the net! a PB brid for squatch at 25.5" 7lbs!!! awesome fish! Obviously this really got us jacked up and we got our second wind from the slower fishing up to this point and we kept plugging away. We made a move and had an amazing window of catching where we put another bunch of fish into the boat, a pretty even mix of zebra rockets and marble eyes. I whacked a real nice eye during this window and everything slowed way down by 3am so we called it around 3:30. 15 fish total, mostly average with a few small and a few bigger. great night and looking for the weather window to do it again this week ![]()
