The Gambler was out a couple times this past week for taug. Fishing was slow. We had some bites, caught a few shorts and keepers and a couple cod but the fish seemed lethargic. It's too bad that the month is half over. But hopefully, as the temperature rises, the blackfish will get voracious.
The Gambler has had a hard time getting offshore for cod and tilefish, due to the offshore weather. So we have decided to change our schedule to run our "Lazy Man Taug Trips" to go Wednesdays thru Sundays until the end of the month. The trips are open boat, (reservation not neccessary) and hours are 10AM till 3PM. The fare is $50 adult and $45 senior $30 child. Crabs and clams provided. Rental rods, rigs, sinkers, hot food and beverages are available on board. On May 1st, the Gambler will run for stripers and bluefish, leaving at 7AM and returning by 2:30PM
