Just a quick reminder to all the trout anglers on here, the annual trout program meeting at the Pequest Hatchery will take place on Saturday, March 3 just a short 3 weeks away. This will be the time and place to begin floating ideas for any regulatory or stocking program changes you would like to see implemented.

Is it a good idea to suggest new bodies of water to stock? I feel like the meeting gets a lot of these suggestions, and it's hard to convince to others because essentially everyone has their own places in mind where they'd like to see trout.

In my humble opinion it's always a good idea to suggest new waters! Check your PM's.

The idea I had in mind is the Raritan River (main stem) being added to the Fall Stocking program. Specifically just the Duke Island Park stretch and with very few numbers compared to other waters.
I'll be discussing this more at the meeting, feel free to join me there ![]() |
