Question Croaker?

Hey all!

I've been wanting to catch a croaker for awhile now (I'm a multispecies angler and I'm trying to build up my list). Anybody catching them out of the rivers or bays lately? Wanted to grab some bait and wet a line at the shark river sometime soon, but I wouldn't wanna make the trip if there a no fish around. I'd be open to catching any species! Any and all advice is appreciated.

Tight lines!

Would try Branegat.

But they are hit or miss and last one I landed was early November.

Sorry don't have any recent reports.

Croakers are not typically around this time of year.. They are typically gone from NY/NJ nearshore areas by late October most years if they are around at all.. Some years they don't show up at all much north of Barnegat...

If I were you, I would fish with 1/2 oz bucktails with maybe a little sliver of squid in the Manasquan River and try for some Sundials, or I would bait fish the back of shark river for Winter flounder.. Either that or hop on a party boat for Blackfish which is your best bet... bob
