Down Deep Fleet - the last few Tuff Toggin & Striped Bass trips

[Down Deep Sportfishing]

Today aboard the Down Deep Bull we ran another 6 am open boat Striped Bass trip with a great bunch of guys. Had to work for them today and the crew put a nice catch together of slots and bonus fish. Plenty of readings and warm water should keep them around for a while, with another mass that should push west.

Aboard the Down Deep, on the Blackfish front we have sailed a few trips with no great shakes. Tough fishing with many at the rails with little reward. We see fish to 7-8 lbs every trip with nice roasters mixed in along with other edibles. Warm water seems to have a bad affect on the fishery right now. The Dogs are barking & Porgies are still on the grounds only reaffirms it. We will continue to grind it out and know the bite will improve. Believe half of what you see and less of what you read. all depends on the spot and the day i guess, sounds like a pretty good report to me. we've had shorts pecking us to death everywhere and our few keepers have not been very big for the most part. saw the same thing with porgies and seabass still in our tog spots, thought the same thing, that the water must still be warm.
