Default Farrington Pike

Was looking for a hot Bass bite...NO GO Started throwing a spinner bait and BIBLICAL pickerel; continued and caught a few pickerel and then started to fish what was left of the lilly pads and must have caught at least 20 of these guys, small pike to 15 inches. Guess this years stocking? Hard hitting and lots of action so not so bad. Caught a few yellow perch, bluegill, and crappie to finish the day. Not bad for first day fishing since getting back from Japan.

northern pike do not have a vertical black line under their eye, that's the easiest way to tell them apart from pickerel; only pickerel and their hybrids have that black eye line. that being said, a lot of people use the term pike for all esox haha

Yes, they still stock with Pike, i spoke with NJF&G in early summer.
I actually reached out to them to ask about bass in the lake. It was nice to get a call back. They said that the pike population had good numbers but not great size fish, so they may discontinue in the future but it is currently still being stocked. Farrington does have plenty of pickerel though. Its also very low right now. I fished it saturday morning for a few hours and pulled a few bass and crappie, must be 2ft down.
