I vote let us have fun with the hunt...
It gets a little ridiculous when ppl
need coordinates from the hatchery
to be happy...but if they think it'll increase
licence sales they'll do it..

For whatever reason I've found the fall stocking to be odd in that the fresh stocked fish just seem to have lockjaw. Unlike the spring fish that you can catch readily the same day they're stocked.

I usually find that if I wait a week or so they are much more cooperative. And yes they don't hit every stocking point and IMHO the bigger fish move a lot more, especially if flows happen to go up from a fresh storm.

Enjoy the hunt, that's part of the fun.

Would make it simple for anglers to determine if a spot was stocked or not. Currently the only way is to check for tire marks on the ground or just fish it and see for yourself.
I like this idea.

I agree, best you get initially is reactionary strikes in the rivers. On the other hand I've seen the fresh fall stockies nailing power bait 5 minutes after being stocked in a pond once. We're also going to need rain and quick!

Hate to say it but I knew hooks creek was not doing well for trout. I posted here a few times in the spring saying things were just off and I didnt think the trout were doing well. It really is a shame to see. They were doing really well for the few stockings they started after it was demolished by Sandy. Hope they find a way to keep the salinity lower to sustain again.

I guess you could always install a GPS tracker on their trucks too

I wonder how long the recovery will take. I guess more rain helps the process?

They shouldn’t stock the creeks at all. It’s going to be a snag fest with the water being so low. Wait for it to rain. There’s lots of Trout in the Musky. Got a few this past Thursday. All rainbows, they were stacked up in this 1 stretch really good.
