Input On A Benefit For The Wells Family..

I know November is a ways away. But I would use the PUOSU as a fundraiser. The Mimi and OC already saved the dates. Maybe other charter boats could do the same. Maybe have a boat against boat tournament? I just think that Mr. Wells took a lot of pride in the PUOSU and this would be the best way to remember him. And, keep this concept going for the years to come. Plus, the good thing is it would be in November and that would give people a lot of time for planning and Blackfish season would be open.

Just my thoughts.

PUOSO would be a great fundraiser if you can find the boats willing to donate a full day of fishing for free including the mates working for free. PUOSO will continue on i am CERTAIN, but this is to help the family out and give them a chance to meet the people who appreciated their father/husband.

If someone wants to donate the boat for 40 people blackfishing, i would be more then happy to get it all going... But i would still like to do something else to make some extra money to help out.

There is a big difference between keeping his name alive and helping his family, mike was a family man and did what he had to do to make ends meet for his family and dogs, he did anything for anyone that needed a hand or a little advise.

I know mike would love to see PUOSU continue in his honor, but you can bet money that he would much rather see his family helped and make sure they are good and comfortable.


I AM GOING TO RUN SOMETHING IN THE FALL, I HAVE NOT SEEN MUCH RESPONSE HERE AND IT ACTUALLY MAKES ME KIND OF SICK THAT THIS HAS BEEN ON THE SECOND PAGE A FEW TIMES NOW.

IF A HANDFUL OF SUPPORTERS SHOW UP TO WHAT I RUN I WILL BE HAPPY, BUT WE WILL DO SOMETHING AND IT WILL NOT BE FISHING AT THIS TIME, THE FAMILY DOES NOT FISH, MIKE DID BUT THE FAMILY DOES NOT, SO THIS WILL BE FOR THE FAMILY OF MICHAEL WELLS TO MAKE SURE THEY KEEP ON KEEPING ON JUST LIKE MIKE WOULD WANT.

Vinny, I hear what you are saying but I believe when you get something together there will be a huge turnout.

I can tell from past experience that this board has special/generous people who step up when a fellow board member is in need.

Mike meant alot to us and I can't imagine us failing when his family is in need.

I agree with you totally his family needs us now then we should all be there now Mike would do the same for any of us. I also agree wit Petey though if people see something set then they will show this thing better get a turnout like the holiday party if not more. Mikey meant so much to everyone. I know this is a hell of an investment for you my lenny & I will help you anyway I can hell i will even scrounge pennies together to help get this thing started if ya want brother you just tell me what you want & I will do all I can as will many others.

Yup, what Murr said, I didn't know Mike well but what I did find out is how alike we and most fishermen tend to be when I met him. I'm sure we could have the best results with a dinner deal- there is Kelly's ,headliner,and Pete n eldas right in Neptune city and knowing the owners from there... Any would help out, and seems to be right in the middle from all of us. I am here , even if its golf, I would be another designated driver between water traps but anything goes... Memberships here should be revoked if you don't contribute to this one, just my opinion...I will do my damnedest to bring at least 10 who don't even know the whole deal, so should everyone else here!

Thanks for that buddy!! i am going to make it probably dinner / casino, it would all be rolled in to one, i know that dinner with raffles would be just fine, but i dont know if a bunch of people want to just get together and stare at each other, i know LAB would say FUUUUCKKKKKKKKKKKK DDDDAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT.... lol so i want to make it fun since he was a good guy and something to keep everyone, including the family engaged.. I through this up before i really thought about it, but i am working on a facility now, and going to work on some other aspects and get it all put together.

I am thinking sometime in november or so... We will see how things roll!
