Smart man! Even though I would choose a nice big fresh strip over the spearing. They definitely will hit the spearing, but with it being a soft bait sometimes times they just pull the spearing off. Now a nice fresh strip is something they can sink their teeth into and it will not come off. Just my 2 cents.
