Default Catching mole crabs 🦀 on lures

Went surf fishing 🎣 at Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a cold 🥶 cloudy ☁️ day with a 43 mph west wind and blowout low tide. Air temperature was 43 degrees. Only caught mole crabs 🦀. Saw jetty fishermen catch a sundial and dogfish. Didn’t see any surfers or small boats 🚤. Terns were catching minnows on the sand bar. A US Army Corps of Engineers dredge went up the inlet at dusk again. Shark River is probably being dredged. A great blue heron was fishing 🎣 in the inlet as I walked to my car 🚗 at night. Two Game Wardens searched my bucket 🪣 when I arrived at my car. Three Game Wardens in my fishing 🎣 spot in two days is too much. I may try freshwater fishing 🎣 again. Manasquan really sucks. It’s overrun with people, fishermen, spear fishermen, surfers 🏄*♀️, boats 🛥️, dogs 🐕, birders, photographers, vacationers, sightseers, police 👮 and Game Wardens.

I love your reports but i wish the game warden were out all the time. I'm tired of seeing every short blackfish being thrown in a bucket or hiding. I would welcome being check more often . If your not breaking the law their should be no problem with the game wardens

Bands, F+G must have gotten complaints. Don't stop what you are doing as you have nothing to hide. I enjoy your reports from the inlet.

Fish Bay Head at night, Osborne Ave and have the entire place to yourself. You might want to try SP Minnows also, they cast way better then A-salt Bombers. If fishing stinks head over to the Idle Hour for a few cold ones.

Those crabs would make excellent Blackfish baits and I would be giving that a shot right now since once the cold weather sets in they'll be gone and headed offshore.

A nice heavy weight to hold bottom, the way the current rips through there I'd say 8 ounces and make it a flat sinker so it doesn't roll. Sinker on a bottom loop, 4 inches above that tie in a 6 inch leader to 4/0 hook. Toss it out near some rocks and hang on!! Note you can only keep 1 @ 15 inches right now and 11/16 you can keep 5 @ 15...
