Default Afternoon party boats

It's been a while that I've posted here and also a while that I've been on party boats since most of my summers lately have been spent surf fishing.

Which party boats do you all recommend that do afternoon trips for fluke?

I'm reading some posts here that waters were a little rough this afternoon (Sunday) as I was looking to go tomorrow (Monday) and if that doesn't work, it would be on Wednesday.

Looking forward to your feedback...thanks to all!

Looks like North-East winds at 20 to25 knots right till the up coming weekend, doubt anyone will be sailing the ocean, maybe Sandy Hook bay.

I would also recommend the Gambler but as Andy just texted the weather is closing in. Don't think anyone is sailing till Wednesday or Thursday. Not worth getting beat up.

And then add 3-4 days minimum, dependent on the weather that follows this week's blow, until the bottom settles. That brings us to almost the end of August and we all know what that means.

It usually happens much later in the summer but big storms like this usually trigger the fluke migration off shore so we shall see..

Thumbs up Re: Afternoon party boats

First, I really appreciate EVERYONE who took the time to respond to my post. It's GREATLY appreciated!

I never expected that the storm that went through yesterday would cause these waves and conditions...or is there more to it than this?

Yes, when I was boat fishing regularly for fluke, this was my experience as well...which is that after a signficant rain/storm, the fish would shut down for at least a day or two in most cases.

When it's this late in the summer, I am also wondering if that's it. Hopefully not, as I am really looking forward to going.

Thanks again to all!

NF it's not yesterday's storm, it's the impact of Hurricane Erin, the eye of which is currently east of Cuba and southeast of Florida, over 1,100 miles away. It's projected track is N / NE up the coast throughout this week passing New Jersey a few hundred miles offshore around Friday. Just shows the power and energy these storms release. It's strength will diminish as it tracks north but it's still a big storm with inshore impacts into next week.

I was aware of the Hurricane, but never imagined today's closings were related because it was so far away. Wow.

I see Gerry posted a thread on this topic. Will be helpful to everyone since the weather forecasts we see on TV are not helpful for fishing purposes.
