Interesting Run Off…….
Was Fluking out just past Scotland on a 60-65’ piece today. BT’d with my rod and dead sticked another with a plain jane rig and a long 8” strip of squid.
Dead stick rod doubles over. Pick it up and it’s heavy! The pumping felt weird. Only thing I could compare it to is the pumping tail of false albie when hooked. Not a slow pull and not fast either. Hooks pops and it comes back up kinda straightened but not completely. Leader didn’t have a single chafe so whatever it was had to be toothless unless it whatever it was, was hooked in the corner of the mouth. Been fishing a long time and this def had me stumped. Not a ray for sure with the heads pumps it gave. Not thinking shark since the fluro leader came up clean.
