Yes we can catch lake trout jigging, but things like rainbows, browns salmon, are for hard core trollers with a lot of time, gear, and know how. In early spring here the lakers are 250 feet down. Try jigging for them in a 14 foot boat with a 1 oz jig with the wind blowing 30 knots. I don't even try any more.
