What we are doing as humans: we are homogenizing the earth. We are picking things up and moving them all over the place. I think California is up to 167 invasive species now. Look at Snakeheads, no way those fish would have been able to swim thousands of miles from their original homes, we moved them in a few years. The spotted lantern fly is going to wreak havoc on the agricultural industry in this country. Pa was reportedly the entry point from China about 5 years ago and the population spread In Pa. is out of control. Warren and Hunterdon counties are two of maybe a dozen counties in NJ under quarantine, they're all over the place. Approximately 70 plants, trees and crops they focus on with Tree of Heaven, White Birch and vineyards being at the top of the list. They say they can destroy an entire vineyard in one year and they're heading into NY, not good. Couple pictures of adults locally.
