Andover Ice Fishing Report (it ain't over)

Good report food, friends and fish to boot. the conditions were tough but you kept at it and found some fish that would play.. Tuesday was cold and Wednesday was on the warm side as the day went on we had to take off a layer of clothing for a couple of hours then the sun started going down and we put them back on. the place we were at the shores are rotting fast and it is going to be sort of ok to to get on but it can be tricky to get off. A plank will help but that will be short lived by the middle of next week.

Well done guys. Definitely a lot of ice in certain places. Be careful and enjoy it. Looks like it will all be gone by next week possibly. Fresh Perch on the ice. Love it!!!

Upbeat report. I fished near the launch yesterday & had a foot of ice, half & half snow & hard...maybe the hard was only 5 or so. Thick altogether but melting fast with temps near 50. I see mid-60s in the forecast coming soon for a few days. It's cold now, so I guess it does look like guys will get out this weekend.

Figures. I put all my stuff away last weekend and my new flipover just showed up sitting in grage still in the box.

Took a group of 9 out Sunday for Sunday Funday. Sat night temps were cold..so Sunday should have been fine in theory. Beautiful day on the ice. 7 to 9 inches with 4 of solid black. Bluebird skys and rising pressure...but who cares... we had a blast hanging out...grilling food and having beverages. My only goal was to get the kids their 1st hardwater fish.
Was striking out all afternoon till the bite happened at sundown treeline. I placed them infront of the garmins n told them video game time. Makes these flashy lines touch these flashy lines n set the hook. Boom! Holy cr@p! They did it. Mission accomplished. Now time for everyone to do the ice melt dance. Its ice out time..Open water awaits!
