Default Bluefins 6/13

Left outta sewaren at 3 am. We were greeted by crap conditions. Strong winds and sporty seas. Pushed on and dropped the spread in 25 mi from the hook. Hooked up with more mongo false albacore than you could've ever wanted. Some were huge...biggest I've seen in a long time. After a few hrs made a move 10-15 miles further taking a nice lil beating en route. Dropped the spread back in and same deal--big false albacore.

Got some intel to push further east, roughly 10 more miles. Pulled the spread and made the run. 10 min into lines in we got a 40" bluefin. Now we're cooking with grease!

About 30 min later we plucked a 30" fish. Unders covered. Let's use the next hour or so to get that over. About 15 20 min later the port side long rigger with a sidetracker gets demolished. Reel screams... def a real one.

Grabbed the rod, strapped up and fought it for about 10 to 15 min in sporty seas. Leadered, gaffed and roped off a 60" bluefin. High fives all around. Fished another 30 min as we situated the cockpit and dressed the fish. Headed for the barn at 230ish. Flattened out to glass about 10 mi from the hook. A welcomed sight!

Long day but we managed our limit. Everyone worked hard and we kept at it. Sushi for days!

Nice catch!! Sounds like we were in the same area and close to the same time we hit them. Pink was hott for us! Though the purple on my starboard side was hit as well. I did make a call on channel 68 to let guys know the general area I was in, not sure if you heard me.

Everything was zucchini and green. I don't think color mattered. It was more about finding them and pounding the sand eel shoals we marked on the bottom.
