Lol...I crawl out of the woodwork every once in a awhile. Following this and still hoping the state park at LH doesn't lock-up so I can go musky fishing this week.

I hear ya. This is a wicked cold snap. Hope I can find a launch somewhere this week but this is ice making stuff. I'd take the sled out but going kitty fishing in VA next weekend and tarpon fishing in FL the week after.

Mark state park is locked up man just a heads up, main lake is still open. Though....

after bouncing around to find open water saturday with the boat and ending up not doing too well (though squatch landed a hefty smallie and the first ever NJ reservoir salmon! not sure if he wants to share with you guys ) not many options sunday, but we wanted to ice fish so we got out on some good solid uniform 3" ice. It was slow but again squatch caught two nice fish including a big pickerel and a big perch.

I pretty much just went to slime dart city...you guys are going to have to beg squatch for the real pictures! and btw if anyone is in the market for new boots, the cabela's inferno boots were like a furnace on my feet and they are still on sale i think! hopefully they are durable to last a long time, but only time will tell...all i know is they're warm as hell!

First Ice Part Duex!

Tipup went off within 5 minutes of being set. Just missed the skillful angler award at 12.75"



A few ghost flags here and there and some pesky dink perch kept the flags popping to keep us interested.

At one point Chris walked by my tipup and the flag pops and starts screaming line. I run from across the lake and pull in over a hundred feet of line to land a skillful angler pickerel at 24.5"





Looking forward to more hard water this weekend! 10 degrees this morning with not a whisper of wind. Probably made an 1"-1.5" of ice over night.
