Dave....thanks for posting. Sounds very positive and great to see the efforts of many potentially starting to pay dividends. Still has to pass full senate and devil is always in the details with legislation but anything modifying MSA has to be considered a step in the right direction and the intent sounds promising.

Hard to believe as your post mentioned "There are 11 million saltwater anglers in the U.S. who have a $63 billion economic impact annually and generate 440,000 jobs." that the recreational fishing sector doesn't have a better lobbying effort and more unified clout in Congress. Those are not insignificant numbers.

Much thanks to the people mentioned in your post for their leadership in fighting for change, change which will hopefully strengthen our fisheries and secure our children's rights to enjoy the resource as we have.

Gerry, How about all the hard work also put in by the Jersey Coast Anglers Association. You always forget us in your accolades. A NON-PROFIT group made up of ALL volunteers. Not one officer receives a salary. We work very hard for N.J. fisherman. Our past president, Mr. Haertel, can run circles around the best of them when it comes to fishing laws for every species.
I'm sure a lot of N.J. Fishing members have read his very lengthy post on what goes down with the laws. He spends hours of his time writing his post so others understand the laws. And he does it for the love of our sport. That's his pay.
So please give credit to 'every organization' where credit is deserve.

Cuz
1) Gerry didn't post this I did. FYI: Gerry doesn't forget anyone !
2) I know Paul and appreciate everything he does on ALL Levels and have posted appreciation of same in the past and will continue to do so
3) We all appreciate JCAA and what they do on the State level but this is a federal issue and I posted those results from RFA as per the federal issues. JCAA is State of NJ. but yes Paul is a great resource.
4) All fishing advocates / groups / are recognized / never forgotten and appreciated
5) thanks for your input

I read the response post Gerry posted to your post. Read it again. You will see where I got my information. No big deal. I respect Gerry. Even though he still owes me a new dollar challenge for the first ling!

Well seems like you’ve filled the void of credit I missed here Cuz

And to set the record straight I think the JCAA does an amazing job protecting NJ’s fishing interest and Paul is perhaps one of the most active and committed people in our state. I’m very greatful for people like him, this however is a national issue.

Not going to play club wars here either. Pick the club or organization you have the most in common with and dedicate your time and effort there not pitting one against the other. After all at the end of the day we’re on the same team fighting for the same thing.

BTW That dollar I won from you on that ling trip was donated to the RFA
