I don't really fish there much anymore, like the other place better, but i'd say they should start thinking outside the box. might have to introduce an invasive baitfish or something. I'm sure there is a bait species that can thrive in that bowl.

Yes the RVTA did stock shiners. The State told them shiners need WARM water with lots of WEEDS to live and reproduce. Turned out to be a one time fish feeding.

So pretty much the only input that the reservoir gets is the intake from the South Branch. Im guessing not much "food" makes it out compared to what a natural tributary would do, like the various creeks that Spruce Run has.

I hear a common strategy is to dump old christmas trees.

The times Ive been at RV the shorelines are pretty barren, since I started fishing when it was experiencing it's water shortages. I wonder if focusing on getting more structure in the shallow areas would help.

That idea of dumping in limiting nutrients like phosphorus sounds decent too since the reservoir doesnt seem to have anything running off into it.

what effect do you think the proposed 2018 maintenance related park closings and draw downs will have on the mega stockings? perhaps they should wait til next year to avoid stressing the fish with all the changes being made in 2018.

With the lake being over 150 feet deep even if they drew it down halfway there'd still be over 75 feet of water over a large area for the fish to find their comfort zone in.
