For those who have never fished in the Gulf Of Maine for Whiting it is way different that what you remember.

We do our best to avoid the OVER ABUNDANT Ling by fishing 4 to 8 feet off the bottom. Even doing that we catch Ling on the High Hooks

If you prefer Ling just keep your hooks 1 to 3 feet off the bottom. The Ling are Stacked up and the Whiting are usually above them. Most of the time we are anchored and on rare occasions we drift
