![]() I start off with a FG Knot which I tie at home.... you can't beat the slim profile to go right through the guides..... seems difficult at first, but the more you tie them the quicker you get at it, and Super Strong.....and if I have to re-tie another leader on the spot I'll use an Alberto knot which is quick, strong and still a thin profile.

![]() I second the FG. I tie it at home, leave the leader a little longer and I've never had to retie. I go a little overboard with the wraps to make super sure it's bullet-proof. I caught a 30+ pound jack crevalle from the beach in Bermuda this past September and I had to lock down the drag on my Slammer III 6500 to prevent it from going into the reef and then a group of swimmers. It was 50-lb. braid and 30-lb. fluoro.
