![]() Nothing special needed to troll umbrella rigs... 30 pound class conventional rod and a matching conventional reel should do it. Braided line would be great but mono would be OK too... If using braid you probably want the last 7 or 8 feet attached to the umbrealla rig to be 50 pound mono since it makes it safer to land/leader the fish. If you plan to troll a lot, then a slick butt rod is preferred since it makes it easier to get out of the rod holder when its under load.
