Shepards lake in Ringwood state park will give you lots of shoreline access and plenty of action.

Thanks, we've been to Shepards Lake but we're looking to try a new place.

you can get limited access by the dam off of awosting rd there is a dirt road on the left if you go past green turtle pond it takes you to a small parking area by the dam. worms or shiners might do well there. i do not know if the weeds are bad there now.

Very Good...forget about that spot. It's on the left just before you hit East Shore Drive. You can also fish the river there also. Good call!

Stopped there last weekend on my way home. Water was clear of weeds, but the walk from where the road ends was all overgrown. Fished about an hour there with no sign of life.

If you do Green Turtle from the shore with kids make sure you check thoroughly for ticks. Place is loaded with them.

The area by the dam can be very sticky. Lots of snags. The rocks are held together with metal fencing like you see on the side of highways.
