Aren't gizzard shad small? These fish looked to be 4-6lbs.

Adult gizzards are big. I've caught them below the dam at Milton lake. They're def gizzards.

All fish are small at one time. Gizzard Shad have the potential to grow pretty big. Maybe they were White Suckers. Sometimes those fish move upstream when they spawn. ![]() .
