You should see how smart these birds are down in FL. As sooon as they see a boat stop and the fishing poles come out, they come out of nowhere... At first they land in your general area and keep their distance...Once they see you reeling in a fish they come closer and as soon as they see you realease it, they dive for it.

I paddled beneath a cormorant in a tree in Merrill Creek Reservoir and the thing nearly shit on me. I wouldn't mind seeing a depredation program targeting cormorants. They are a real nuisance. Someone's pics - not mine. ![]() ![]() .
