Sorry to be a dunce
to be clear, you don't launch your boat at dows. you can rent a boat there.

Couple questions:

1. Do the rentals at Dow's come with nets, or should I bring mine?
2. I have a floating minnow bucket like one of these: http://www.easternmarine.com/media/c.../8/1826_st.jpg , not sure how well the herring would survive in it. Is it worth bringing and trying, or don't bother and just go with livers and/or artificial?
3. What size hooks do you recommend...more specific, what size circle hooks for livers, what size circle hooks for herring, and what other hook for herring (baitholder or other)?

Thanks in advance

Bring your net. Keep the herring in a bucket of cold water with a bubbler. 1/0 INLINE circle hooks for the goobers.

The bigger the bucket the better. Keep the water cold. Freeze some water bottles. Get a lid to keep splashing down. Those orange Home Depot buckets work well.

Inline circle hooks are hard to find none of the local shops have them.everyone has offset hooks. I found these at Walmart. Boonton is out of them.

Yeah I can't believe no one carries them. They used to but I think the people in charge of stocking have no clue what they are doing. They had them, sold out, didn't order more...

Thanks guys! I sorted my tackle box last night and the smallest circle hooks I have are 5/0. So I'll be in search of some inline ones when looking for the smaller hooks...if I find any, I'll let you know.

OK boys it's official...I'm in. Just got initial clearance Friday night but needed to wait until today to be sure. I'll be there with Wilson in the boat...just because when you suck at fishing like I do it's always good to have a smart ass with a camera along to take advantage of it! Hoping to at least avoid the skunk this time as last year was a hard one to take.

Looking forward to it boys. Always a good time with you bunch.

By the way what time does this thing start? Stupid o'clock...O'Dark Thirty...either works for me.

See ya out there.

Only saw one pack of inline circle hooks. They were the "bleeding" red hooks and size 7/0. Oh well, picked up some egg sinkers, I'll make due with what I got or see what Dows has on Saturday. Counting down now, can't wait to get out there!
