Default River pike (10/14/16)

Had to head over to my parents for dinner, so I managed to squeeze about 25min of fishing on the river on my way over. Water is very low and clear. Managed a couple of fish between 27 and 30 inches. No monsters, but definitely a blast to catch. I made the poor decision to unhook the fish without pliers. Thought I had made it unscathed, until I went to wash my hands and noticed the tip of my thumb had been sliced haha. I'd say lesson learned, but probably not.

That's a pretty good 1/2 hr. Keep some neosporin on that cut. Between low river water and pike slime, you got some bad potential there.

Great job JD.

Looks like one of the best half hours out there.

LOL, nice fish JD, well worth the battlescar! It's something that the adrenaline from the fight is pumping and you don't even feel it. Then, after you release the fish, you notice the blood dripping or see the blood on your pants or something. After the adrenaline wears of, then it starts throbbing. As Rich said, clean it well.

Looks like that fish has been caught before. Got some battle scars of his own. Hey, sometimes you catch a tooth in the hand, it happens!! Nice fish!!
