We were electrofishing for N. Pike. But we also saw,…
Florham Park: Carp, Yellow Perch, Black Crappies, Largemouth Bass, Sunfish, Golden Shiners, White Suckers, HUGE schools of Common Shiners. Fairfield: Carp, Yellow Perch, Red Fin Pickerel, Chain Pickerel, Black Crappies, Largemouth Bass, White Suckers, Sunfish. Yesterday, we electrofished @ Elmwood Park: Saw what looked 2 N. Pike but they evaded capture, Carp, Yellow Perch, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, White Suckers, Black Crappies, Angelfish (a NJ first for me). |

a little off topic but...
makes me think of the time i sent an email asking if anglers could have access to the skillful angler data submitted for the year (not just the top fish for the year)... couldn't be that much extra work for the person processing the submissions to just throw the species, size, and location into a table on the website could it? seems like very valuable information not being put to much use.

No Video.
I will be writing it up this winter (I forgot to include Brown Bullheads @ all sites & 1 Channel Catfish approx. 6 lbs. @ Florham Park). Scroll to the bottom of this page: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/bfwf_highlights.htm to see link to Field Report - Research & Management 2015 All biologists will be writing up this fall / winter: Field Report - Research & Management 2016 |

Not looking for spots, but how far down river does one encounter freshwater species? I know LMB are pretty salt tolerant. Is there much salt content as far North as Rutherford when the water levels are low? Thx

Of course the actual freshwater line varies with rain & tides. Once I got a report of a N. Pike catch @ Lyndhurst. This year, due to the lack of rain, an angler reported a bunker school @ the base of Dundee Dam, Garfield. |

I called Fairfield DPW to unlock the gate. They told me that it was open, as someone cut the lock off. Didn't sound like they were going to repair it soon.
