If you already own the Daiwa and the Avet, both would be fine. The Daiwa is about a good 10oz lighter compared to the EW50 at 63oz and the EWX50 at 67oz. The Avet has the Daiwa beat on the drag though. The Avet is rated for around 50lbs of drag at strike. That might be a mute point depending on the line you have them spooled with.

And the Penn's are ole school stand by star drag chunking reels I know a ton of guys use. They are cheap and get the job done when you're on a budget.

Ill use this rod with the Daiwa for daytime chunking/flylining, 80lb JB HC, 40lb Momoi diamond topshot, should do the trick.

Hmmm - Given the rod is as light weight as it is, I might be looking to pair it up with the lightest reel with the highest amount of drag.

Avet Raptor series??

Pricey but tons of drag for reels of their size.

May have start saving my pennies for a HX Raptor for next year....this year it's gonna be the heavy old clunker.
