![]() One last tip of advice. MAke sure to bring the reel you plan to fish with to make sure it balances well on rod you are purchasing. Also depending on reel you are using some times they do not fit properly into real seat on rod so always a good idea to bring reel or reels with you

![]() Hey Ken, Check out the Shimano Trevela. The 6'6" MH. It's very versatile and you can find them for around $100. It will handle anything from Bucktailing/ dragging bait for fluke and seabass to jigging/chunking striped bass. That's the rod I was using on Mikey's boat that day.

![]() Just picked up one of the bogan rods yesterday. For 95 bucks I could not find myself to be able to walk out of the store without. Nice long cork grips with quality guides.

![]() Ok so I stopped by Kevin Bogan's based on the recommendations from MVP and Saltlife. Start talking to Kevin about the $95 rods which he gives me the full run down on. And then picks up a fish poison 6'6" jigging rod he makes...all black shiny and new and looks just badass...then he hands it to me. Mistake number one..I take it from him. No comparison obviously and it feels just as nice as it looks. He tells me that it is a good match to my reel (great tip MVP to bring my reel). Mistake number two...I put the reel on the rod. So well balanced feels like I have nothing in my hand. The Price is $155. So now there is no way I'm buyin that other rod but i can't justify the cost in my head for a couple times a year. So my wife finally says...Oh just buy it it's only another 50 bucks and it's something you'll have for the rest of your life! SOLD! Used it on Sunday on the Fasteddie 40th Birthday trip and am so glad I got it. Awesome rod...you can fish with it all day and never feel like you worked at all. I'm a very happy customer to say the least. Kevin is a great guy and very knowledgeable...highly recommend him. Although I can't help but feel that Salt and MVP kind of set me up!
