I chose Mike Garone on his work and reputation! I picked a blank I liked and let him tie it together, his work is very nice and I would have him do another without question!

I have rods from both garone and bogan. Hard to say which is better. The rods are awesome. I do have a Grandt that i picked up used and its a nice rod but if i were you id go with garone or bogan

I have 4 bogan rods and love them.i have had no problems with any of his work.2 for blackfish,1 cod jigging stick and one tuna jigging stick.all have been tested time and time again.great product at a very competitive price.

On the boat for bottom fishing I fish a bogan. Can say anything about Garone, never tried one.
For the surf, an 11 foot one piece CTS made by RH customs . Hands down best surf rod I have ever fished
