that's what i was thinking too. i'm used to searching for structure and then working that for the bass, how do you fish the big open bowl of RVR for them moz? follow a ridgeline down into the water or something? or just toss a bunch of casts and see what happens
and congrats on the new PB

The 2 things I’ve caught the most at Round Valley are rockbass and the skunk…. And the skunk has a big lead in the standings! A lot of it comes down to persistence and maybe the law of averages getting decent numbers on some trips. But then again that should mean I’d have at least one nice smallie out of there to my name and I’ve yet to get one weighing more than a pound.
![]() The only structure that’s consistently produced for me there is the Rip Rap. Weedy areas that look like they’d be bass havens I haven’t had any luck with. The open areas with drop-offs despite marking fish haven’t done anything for me either. It’s a tough/enigmatic body of water for sure and add the summer crowds on weekends if I had a serious drive instead of just 20 minutes I’d likely prioritize fishing somewhere else too. LOL
