Get a mid size spinning reel not to small I like Daiwa 3500 size spinning reels 10lb to 15lb good quality thin and strong braid I like Stren or green braid ... I like spinning rods with decent size guides too not those real small guides.. I have a custom CTS 7' rod I can underhand great ...shimano trevala TVS66M or TVS66MH rods to for jigging and underhand casting

For a spinning set up one of my set ups is a Shimano Trevala medium paired with a Penn battle 2 2500. Never lets me down. For a casting i use a Jigging world black widow 120c paired with an accurate boss valiant 300. Both very deadly
